Focus and Scope
The seventeenth edition continues to maintain three primary objectives: to present ongoing research within the Department to a wide readership; to encourage dialogue and debate around existing and emerging ideas in the field; and to review recent publications and exhibitions presented within the wider cultural context.
The contents of this volume represent the diversity of objects and issues being pursued by postgraduates in the Department; similarly, the range of methodological strategies with which the authors engage demonstrates how the production and reception of meaning within the visual arts continues to be questioned and renegotiated according to a variety of formal and theoretical priorities. The vibrancy and dynamism of our research community is further manifested in the list of theses currently in progress within the Department, included at the end of the volume.
